Discovery Time

Today in Discovery Time, we started our session by reading the story called The Pirate Who Said Please.  It was about a boy who was unkind and rude to his friends.  He ended up very lonely and sad.  Him learnt how to be kind and polite and made lots of friends!  Today we practised being kind and polite to our friends.  Here are some photos of our kind and polite children that our Discovery Time Photographer took.

Light Table

We got a big delivery on Friday!  When we opened the box we found a light table inside.  We have been wondering what we can use it for.  Cassie thought she could write her name on it.  What ideas do you have?

Buddy Class

Room 25 is our Buddy Class.  We spend time together every Wednesday afternoon.  We went to visit Room 25 in their classroom today.  Miss O'Shea read us a story about Grandpa and his slippers.  We then went with our buddies and did cutting practise, writing and block building.  We had lots of fun.  We can't wait until next Wednesday!

Counting With Blocks

During Maths today we practised counting. We made towers out of blocks. We became very clever at counting the blocks and guessing how many blocks we would have if we added one more!

Mr Potato Head

Zac and Mackenzie had fun with Mr Potato. Miss Morgan brought them from her house for Room 3 to use. Zac and Mackenzie asked for Miss Morgan to take a photo of them to put on the blog. They said they feel famous when they are on the blog.

Art

Today we painted pictures of ourselves. We looked in the mirror to see what we looked like. Our art will be up on the wall tomorrow so come on in and admire our art!

Milk, Milk, We Love Milk!

In Room 3 we have yummy cold milk every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.  We love milk!

Manners matter!

At Owairaka School we are all working on using our manners.  In Room 3 we are becoming very clever at using our manners.  I am sure that the children are showing you these wondering manners at home too!

Fairy Judy

Fairy Judy came to visit Room 3 today. She told us all about the holiday reading logs. If we fill out the holiday reading logs next holidays, she will come and see us and give us a certificate and a prize. We all promised Fairy Judy we will do lots of reading!

Music with Janina

We were very lucky today!  We had The fantastic Janina come in and do music with Room's 2 and 3.  We all had the opportunity to play a violin.  What a lovely sound!
