Spring fun with our buddy class

On Friday during Buddy Class we read a story about spring and daffodils.  We worked with our buddy to make a special daffodil to celebrate Daffodil Day.

Book Character Parade

On Friday we had a Book Character Parade.  We went to the hall and had a parade and a special assembly to celebrate Book Week. Here is Room 3 in their costumes!

Book Week Fun!!!

We had so much fun during Book Week.  

We played lots of Reading Games. This game was called Musical Book Chairs.  We had to dance around the circle while the music played.  When the music stopped we had to run to a chair and read the book that was there.  What fun!!! 

We were very, very lucky to have lots of visitors come and read to us.  Here is Isaac's Grandmother reading us a story.

Room 3 has a new teacher!!!

During Discovery Time some of the children played schools.  Sakina did a very good job of being Miss Morgan.  Miss Morgan didn't even realise that she put her hand on her hip during calendar maths!!  We love the pink high heels too.  Miss Morgan said that she will have to go and buy herself a pair just like them!!!

Writing our names

As part of our morning routine we need to practice writing our name.  Some of us are even learning to write our surnames!  Can you please help us do this at home?

Ordering numbers

In Numeracy this week we are learning how to order numbers.  This would be something fun to practice at home.  We are working towards ordering numbers to 20.

Assembly

On Friday, Room 3 performed in Assembly!  We did an animal dance.  We painted our faces so that we looked like the tiger in the dance.

Story through music

We had another fun music session with Janina today.  She came and told us an exciting story through music.  After the story had ended we got to play a trumpet.  We had to use a "buzzy mouth" to make the trumpet work.

Buddy class

We meet our buddy class on a Friday.  Our buddy class is Room 25.  On Friday we made zoo enclosures with our buddy class.

Going to the Zoo!

On Wednesday, we went to the Zoo.  The weather wasn't very kind to us and it was wet, wet, wet!  We didn't care.  We put on our raincoats and had lots and lots of fun.  We found out lots of interesting facts about tigers and other animals.  We even got to hold a REAL tiger tooth.

Here we are on the bus.  We had a lot of fun.  We sang the song "The wheels on the bus" and "Going to the zoo, zoo, zoo."

 

We had to wear our raincoats to help us stay dry.

It was hard work walking around the zoo.  We stopped for some yummy morning tea to get more energy.

We had such a fun day at the zoo and we learnt a lot!

Story through music

We are very, very lucky in Room 3.  Janina, who is Parker's Mum, came in and told a story through music.  After the story we got to play the violin.  How clever are we!

Maori Language Week

During Maori Language Week we learnt a short Pepeha.  Here is a video of some of us saying our Pepehas.  You can come into our Room and see our Pepehas displayed on the wall.

Shapes

This term for our Strand maths we are learning all about 2-d shapes.  We used our shape blocks to make pictures.  We then had to tell our buddy the name of all of the shapes we used in our picture.
